HARRIET WEBBER-JAMIESON

My favourite flower? I love any David Austin rose however my favourite is the ‘Gertrude Jekyll’ for its vibrant colour and incredible scent. One of my greatest pleasures was assisting in the creation of the ‘Ella’ (as pictured below) created for Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding in May 2019…”

Harriet Webber-Jamieson is the head of Party Planners, an event design company best known for arranging private dinners for the world of couture and large-scale special occasions on behalf of royalty. Always immaculately presented, Harriet was one of the very first to be nominated on our best-dressed list this year. In this discussion, we explore style inspiration, favourite designers, and family heirloom jewellery…

C&B: “Harriet, firstly congratulations for being named on the CITY & BEACH INTERNATIONAL BEST DRESSED LIST 2025. Can you share with us your wardrobe choices and favourite designers?”

HWJ: “For me, it is most important to dress for the occasion, whether that is tweed and wellies with a very warm cashmere jumper while at the Castle of Mey, the Queen Mother’s former residence (pictured further down the page) in Inverness, or a couture gown for a white tie gala dinner. I always consult with my clients ahead of choosing my outfits. Contrary to the popular choice of wearing understated navy blue or black, I tend to wear something more obvious, as it’s important that both the people working for me and the people I’m working for can find me during the event!”

C&B: “Yes, that’s a very good point – strategic dressing at its finest. As you’re often around VIPs and move in royal circles, who would you say has most often influenced your wardrobe choices over the years – any Hollywood stars, or other icons?”

HWJ: “I’m not particularly influenced by television or movies; in my opinion, the late Princess Diana was the ultimate chameleon and always dressed on point…”

I do love to support British brands, and most of my day dresses are by Beulah, which is a British and socially conscious brand. They work to support women who are victims of modern slavery and human trafficking. I also love Suzannah London, Claire Mischevani, and evening wear by Thomas Starzewski. Although I am also a huge fan of Oscar de la Renta, I have been incredibly lucky to have been dressed by Moschino and Schiaparelli…”

C&B: “Yes, Princess Diana was always impeccably turned out, and she was quite open to being adventurous in her style. Of all the beautiful outfits you’ve worn, which would you say has been your favourite?”

HWJ: “It would be a hard to decide between a beautiful jewelled Moschino gown and bright yellow Claire Mischevani dress…”

I don’t wear much jewellery; however, I always wear my beautiful engagement ring, which was designed by my husband, as well as the piece he bought upon the arrival of our daughter. Both were created by Marmalade Jewellery in Chiswick…”

C&B: “Accessorising is so important, which fashion accessory do you never leave home without?”

HWJ: “That would be earrings; I feel naked without them. And a crossed PP’s brooch given to me by my late boss Lady Elizabeth Anson, who first started Party Planners…”
